Regarding Anonymous posting of July 2012:
I am a close friend of the poor victim of this rape case, and can safely say that the Habtoor Board of Directors failed to help in any way whatsoever, and in fact went on to torment this poor teacher further. The area was lit after teh event and security tightened but they refused to move the lady to a safer environment- one where she did not have to walk through the rape scene on a daily basis.
The choolinsisted she got local therapy, saying they would pay for it and then 6 weeks after teh event threatened her with her paprtment and job if she did not report it to the police. the British Consulate and 3 independent lawuers advised against thsi as it was eithertoo late or there would be risk of arrest. The victim felt she had no option to leave, clearly a lot out of pocket. The Habtoors, a multi-million company are refusing to pay the expenses promised and themnth salary due to her and are now asking for costs to be incurredby the victim.
It is shocking not only that they refused to assist an employee in any way, threatened her and are still continuing to do so after the event.
In my opinion they have lost a good teacher, and a strong person, but refusing to help someone in this situation is what shocks me the most.Someone please restore my faith in human kind!
